Water Management
The BMWR is an area managed for the conservation of cultural and natural heritage. Special care is taken to preserve the eco-system services and the value of the local traditions.
Precaution
Mongoose and bush rats are common in the area so be extremely careful with food ensuring that nothing is left in the kitchen overnight or while hiking. Lock all securely covered food items in the cabin.

Hiking Trails
- All Visitors must exercise care while on the trails and on the campsite at all times. Wear proper shoes/boots and walk with care.
- No horseplay, the BMWR is a real wilderness and injuries can result when there is a lack of attention and appreciation of possible hazards natural to the area
- NO unnecessary talking while on trail as full attention is needed especially on certain sections of the trail
- ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING ON AT ANY TIME - The BMWR is a NO SMOKING ZONE.
- Use discretion and avoid excessive drinking of alcohol. Sober minds are necessary at all times to ensure safety on the site and on the trails
- Do not drink from the pipes, consume only the potable water provided
Care of Tents
- Absolutely NO sharp instruments in tents/bunks
- No food or drink in tents/bunks
- No smoking or naked lights in tents
- Only flashlights to be used in tents
- No playing or excess movements in tents that can cause damage to tent poles
- No overcrowding in tents
- Keep tents zippered and properly sealed when unoccupied (handle zippers with care)
- Ensure all steps are taken to keep water out of tents in the event of rain
Care of Campsite
- Do not remove any item from campsite
- Do not damage or remove any plants from campsite
- Do not leave any garbage/litter on campsite (TAKE BACK ALL PLASTICS)
- Be sure to flush toilets (when necessary) and keep them clean
- Choked toilets must be reported to camp manager immediately
- Absolutely NO Sanitary Napkins in toilets
- Report immediately any leaks or water supply problem to the camp site site supervisor or staff
Water Management
- Keep showers to a minimum as water is limited, the only source of which is from rain and is stored in tanks. Use the WSW (Wet, Soap then Wash) approach and avoid continuously running taps
- Absolutely NO laundry should be done at the campsite (Arrangements can be made for washing to be done in the community)
- Be sure to use basins when washing dishes instead of running the tap continuously
- Restrict the flushing of toilets to only when it is absolutely necessary
- Do not put sanitary napkins or other materials that may block the toilet
- Urinals save water! Use the urinals for urinating ONLY
